About Pet Rats wins a Liebster Award!

The Liebster Award is a fun way for bloggers to get to know each other by sharing random facts about themselves through questions asked by their award presenter.  This award gives readers insight into the creators of the blogs and sites they read and introduces us all to new sites. In fact, besides answering a list of questions, I get to nominate five blogs for the Liebster Award. What a wonderful opportunity to learn about other pet rat lovers’ sites. <:3~

Even if you don’t have kids, you’ll still enjoy her site. It makes me smile to read about all the different ways to learn while having fun. One of my favorite posts on Sheila’s site is about a Lego time management technique.

Where did you grow up?
In a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

What type of books do you enjoy reading?
I especially love Young Adult novels.

Pizza or Tacos?
Vegan tacos.

Of all the posts you have written, which do you like best?
Difficult choice! It feels like I always like the last post the best. If I HAVE to pick one, I’d say the introduction to my Health section. I am passionate about making sure pet rats get excellent health care. It’s so different from taking care of a dog or cat. I’m happy I can share my knowledge about pet rat health and care.

Do you have a tablet?
Yes. It’s a gift from my significant other.

What do you like to do in your spare time? –Do bloggers have spare time? 
No, I don’t feel that I have any spare time. However, I do make time for knitting and love to felt. I’m currently working on creating some Moonkoosa boots.

What is your favorite animal?
That’s easy: Pet Rats!

Google+ or Pinterest?
Now this is a difficult question. I think it’s a tie.

What is your superpower?
What is a superpower? If I have one, it would be a rat.

If you could build anything out of LEGO what would it be?
A castle for my rats.

Which blogger inspires you the most?
Debbie Ducommon, creator of The Rat Fan Club. She is the person who first made me realize how much there is to learn about pet rat care. Thanks to Debbie’s newsletter and website which I first started reading in 1990, I have spent many years cultivating and growing my knowledge base.

Here are the requested 11 random facts about me:

1. I have never purchased or owned a television.
2. I grew up on a yellow brick road.
3. One summer in high school I read a book a day.
4. I never thought I’d like having a hairless rat or hairless anything for that matter. When I adopted a Double Rex rat I didn’t realize he’d be mostly hairless. Now I can’t believe how much fun and special it was to get to know and be with that little, mostly hairless guy.
5. I live in a house surrounded by a creek.
6. I love the internet
7. I am mostly vegan.
8. I love yoga, especially Vinyasa yoga.
9. When growing up, I used to pretend my bicycle was a horse.
10. I love to laugh. A sense of humor is the #1 trait I most admire in humans.
11. I love spending time alone, especially with my rats. (….which I guess really isn’t alone)
