After entering a contest on Marta Banat’s blog, A Husky Life, I was surprised and delighted to be chosen as one of the winners. The prize was a Vimtag video surveillance camera! Winning this camera has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for taking care of my pet rats.
Henderson and Twyla have a four-story cage that’s bigger than a refrigerator and it’s located on the bottom floor of our house. I work as much as possible in their room but I can’t be there all the time. Thanks to the camera, I can now check on them while I’m upstairs and see when they’re awake and ready for some play time.
Besides being able to see when my rats want to play, I can:
Watch as they discover treats I’ve hidden throughout their cage
Check in on them when I’m away from home
Monitor new rats who’ve been recently introduced to one another
Rather than being in a fixed position, the camera can be controlled remotely to swivel in all directions. I can scan up and down to view each floor of my pet rats’ cage:
2. The quality of the image is exceptional. Even though I’m checking on pets who are tiny in size, I can still see them quite clearly as they move about their cage:
I tell my rats I’m not using the camera to spy on them. Quite the opposite. I’m using the camera to give them all the love and attention they deserve. If Henderson and Twyla thought I was at their beck and call before, I’m even more so now with the aid of my new Vimtag video surveillance camera.
